Background

Holy Gift is a poster of Gift festival in 2017. The aim of this festival is showing the creative ideas of students who study in 7 majors of Decorative Art and Design department. The festival theme changes annually. So, students have to discuss and decide together by presenting ideas.

Design concept

In 2017, we decided to use name of capital cities around the world as an inspiration for the festival. To present my idea, I created the festival poster with Indian theme which I named it “Holy Gift”. The inspiration was New Delhi.

In terms of graphic design, colorful elements were used in order to resonate the beauty of Indian decorative style such as architectures and clothes. Moreover, the tiger which is a symbol of India was put on the center of a poster to emphasis Indian culture. I intended to use dark purple-blue color which is a opposite color of orange for highlighting the tiger.

Design concept

Ceramic major is a one of the essential majors in the department, however minority of people understand this major. This poster was aiming to describe information of the course through graphics. Owing to a lot of information which needed to be provided on the poster, a geometric, ceramic cup was drawn at the center of poster. Minimal design inspired the illustration which dark blue color provided the aura of knowledge.
